MONDAY, MONDAY, SO GOOD TO ME!

I am truly blessed and just had to share this fabulous RAK I received in the mail yesterday! That song Monday, Monday (so good to me) keeps playing in my head because of what I received from Denise of Denise Loves Stamping (hi Denise! Thank you!!!). This gal is very special and has a daughter Jamee who does crafting together. Denise makes beautiful jewelry and is known to share them with her friends. Go check out her site to see all the wonderful cards and jewelry she makes. Now I am the proud owner of TWO pairs of earrings! That's right, TWO that she sent me in my favorite colors. How nice is that? I am truly looking forward to meeting her in person! Okay, so here's the lovely RAK I received:

They are made of beautiful mother of pearl shells and they have a beautiful sheen on them. Denise does beautiful work and I can't wait to put these on.

And look at that cute Hello Kitty card! All that cutting and piecing, and inside there was a very sweet note.

I love these, Denise!

Okay, thanks for visiting and sharing my joy with me. Have a wonderful week all you crafty ladies.

Magnolia Summer Tilda with Strawberry

Happy Sunday Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I had a chance to work on a card today now that the pain in my neck and shoulder has subsided. I didn't do much coloring or cutting out so this was great for me.

My card base is 5.5" square and I used CTMH cardstock and gingham check in Bubblegum. The DPs are Doodlebug Pink Lemonade Plaid and Berry Pink. This cute little Tilda is from the new Summer Collection. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI white CS and colored with Copics. I cut Tilda out and popped her over the top of the strawberry with foam tape.

The colors look a little darker than IRL for some reason and the strawberry is really a lighter pink, closer to the color of the gingham DP.

I added some stickles to Tildas wings and berry dew drops to the flourish I punched out with my EK Success punch. Ribbon is from my stash.

I followed the Just Magnolia #15 sketch for this week, and had fun since it went quite fast.
I haven't added a sentiment yet as I don't know for what occasion I will use this card.

Enjoy your weekend, and thank you for stopping by today.

Circular Fold Up Birthday Card

Happy Saturday Everyone! The sun is shining bright here in Hawaii with our lovely blue skies so this calls for being outdoors today! Before we leave the house, I wanted to share with you a birthday card (again) that I made for my GF and I know she received it so it's okay to post. I has like 4 parts so bear with me. Mind you, I did not put too many embellishments because it gets too cumbersome when you fold it up! You'll see what I mean if you venture to make one...it is easier than it looks, and quite a "conversation piece" in MHO LOL! Okay, so here are a few shots of each side:

I made a mini pizza box to put this folder circular card in:

I found the instructions for this circular card on Patti Lee's blog and thought it was a very interesting, intriguing style. I only stamped the sentiments from SU! and every piece that is adhered in this card are tags from Graphic 45.

Although Patti's instructions calls for 6" circles, I made a smaller version by die-cutting 4" circles with my Sizzix. I will try to make a larger card later and see if I can find my Coluzzle, and for those of you who own a Cricut...that would be "duck soup" right? LOL!

Okay, enough of my ramblings and I've got to get ready so I wish you all a fun-filled weekend!

Thank you for stopping by and know that I truly appreciate your visiting me when you can!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY with TWO TILDAS!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! It's hump day so not too long before the weekend is here, and yes, another week to wave goodbye to. Time is spinning out of control for me somehow. Oh well!

Today I made a sliding window card for this birthday card and I incorporated two Tildas! The focal image is Tilda with Presents and I replaced the presents with the cake from Tilda with Cake! I thought they went together very well and the cake fits in her hands perfectly! I could've used the presents, but I thought the cake would be cuter.

My card base is 5" x 5.5" only because it has to fit in a certain box I plan to use. I got my instructions from Hero Arts about 2-3 years ago (?) and it was the simplest instructions. I believe you can do a search on Hero Arts-Cards for the instructions. I'm not articulate in explaining and I myself am a visual learner LOL! If you can't find it, you can email me (kericami@aol.com) and I can scan the instructions I saved and send it to you. I can't find it in my files but I have the printed copy LOL!

So anyways, I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black on PaperTrey white CS, once for Tilda and twice for the cake portion only. I decided to paper-piece Tilda's dress and stamped on Basic Grey's Wisteria DP then cut out the dress and layered it on Tilda. I colored Tilda's body with Copics (E50, E00, R00), and her stockings with C0 and C1. I then colored the cake twice and cut them out, layered them together, then adhered it to Tilda's hands. I stamped the "for you" with SU! Great Friends stamp set, punched it out with my yellow Marvy heart scallop punch, and popped it up with foam tape on a Bazzill blue CS with my blue Marvy heart punch. I added some silver half pearls on my Nesties scallop die cut mat piece and one on the heart. Lastly, I added a wine/purple paper rose to cover the Holly in Tilda's hair, and added stickles to her wings.

When you pull on the tab (Su! Round Tab punch), the window lifts up and you see the message/sentiment inside. The "Happy Birthday" is from Hero Arts cupcake stamp set.
That's it! Fun, easy card to make with just a few cuts.
Thanks again for stopping by today and for leaving me compliments that encourage me to keep learning, and I do, from visiting the many blogs out there where you crafters share your talent and craftiness that I so love and appreciate. You all are my "reference library" and it can't get any better than that! Plus, friends are made along the way, and for that, I know I'm blessed.
Have a wonderful day, I'll be visiting you all soon.

Gorjuss Birthday!

Happy Monday going on Tuesday Everyone! Hope you had an enjoyable weekend and started the week with a lot of gusto! July seems to be a very popular month for birthdays, so you'll probably be seeing some BD cards. Most of the BD gals love the pink/brown combo so I searched my "supply cabinet" and hunted down some BD papers with these colors, so here's the first card:

The card base is 5.5" square, and I used Bazzill CS, as well as for all the matting and the cupcake. The DP is from Heidi Gace and I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from Hero Arts, and the sentiment is from SU!

I used my Sizzix "Frame, Ornate" for the mat behind miss Gorjuss, and it is similar to SU! Top Note die, just a little narrower. I embossed the pink center with my Cuttlebug pin dot embossing folder. The cupcake is also from my Sizzix Ice Cream and Cupcake die. I put the ice cream cone on the inside but did not take a pic...you gotta have ice cream too, right?! Both the cupcake and miss Gorjuss are popped up with foam tape.

Well the rest is quite self explanatory and boring so I won't go into it. I have a few more cards I need to work on so I'd better sign off here. Thank you for stopping by again, and have a wonderful week.

Stamp n Scrap Hawaii - First Challenge!

Happy Saturday Everyone! The weekend is here and we should all be feeling a bit relaxed and enjoying our two days of freedom (from work!). Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii is a new blog created by the infamous Jen Young of Pieces of Me. I tell ya, she has her hands in everything and does so much I don't think she sleeps! You can learn more about this new blog site here. Everyone around the world is welcome to play along. You DON'T have to be of Hawaii, neither does your images, so go check this out and have fun with us! There's a bunch of "lolo" (crazy) gals and who knows, you might just learn some local/Hawaiian words we speak here!

So, the first challenge is a sketch challenge, and this is what I came up with:

The card base is 5.5" square and I used (again) my SU! Melon Mambo CS (I love this color!). The DP is from DCWV-Blossoms & Butterflies. I stamped both the watering can and Spring Tilda from the Chasing Butterflies collection in Memento Tuxedo Black on PaperTrey white CS, colored them with Copics, then cut Tilda out and mounted her on the watering can with foam tape. The sentiment is from Cloud 9 and punched out with my SU! punches. I had fun with this sketch because it's a quick layout and I didn't feel too intimidated LOL! Oh, and I had to place the sentiment on the opposite side to give it a better balance in my case.

Okay, one more thing! This challenge also requires that we answer a question of the week which is, "What is the area code for Hawaii?" and of course, it's 808! Okay, so if you don't live in Hawaii, I just gave you the answer hahaha!

Well, this was a fast, simple card, but thank you for stopping by. Have a most enjoyable weekend, and have fun doing what you do!

The Next Level Sketch Challenge - Pink Tilda with Rose

Happy Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning Everyone! I made this card following the sketch by talented Jacque for The Next Level sketch challenge. If you checked out Jacque's blog, you read about all her achievements in such a short time (3 months) since joining blogland. If you haven't checked out her site yet, hop on over because she is giving away some awesome blog candy! You can see some pics from my last post.

On to my card . . . the base is 6" x 6" square and I used CTMH Amethyst CS followed by CTMH DP Floral Impression that I've had for a while (sigh!). I die cut the scallop and round circles using my Sizzix dies, and on the lavender circle, I trimmed it with some lace from my stash. I die cut two of the leaves with my Sizzix Flowers, Branches and Leaves die in two different greens to create a "shadow" and used CTMH Sweet Leaf (lighter green) and SU! Kiwi Kiss. I stamped Pink Tilda with Rose twice with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI CS, colored them both with Copics, cut them both out, and mounted one over the other with dimensionals. I added some lavender/purple paper flowers over the leaves and over the rose Tilda is holding.

And this is the inside of my card. I've kept it very simple so that it's not bulky when I mail it.

Thank you for stopping by and I really appreciate your taking the time to check in and leaving me all those wonderful comments.

I hope to be getting back into "the groove of things" and start visiting blog sites again. I've been having so much trouble with IE8 and it keeps kicking me out and I can't leave comments many times without having to sign in again and believe me, it was driving me bonkers! LOL!

So, we're at hump day and I wish you all a wonderful week.

RAK FROM MY GF LINDA!

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you're all having a nice day/evening. I surely am having a great day, especially today. Whenever my husband is away on business trips, my sister spends a few days with me so we can be carefree and go shopping and eat anything our stomach wants! So we went to buy some craft supplies, had lunch and came home to "take a nap" because it was quite an "exhausting" day LOL! To my surprise, I opened the mailbox and I found a manila envelope addressed to ME! (Jumping and waving to Linda!) It started raining (in Hawaii, it's called "tears of happiness" or a "blessing") so I dashed in the house and tore open the envelope! Lookey what I found:

My blogging GF Linda of Simple and Sassy Creations sent me these lovely Basic Grey half pearls and rhinestones in my favorite color, lavender/purple!!! On top of that, she gave me a cute Hello Kitty golf charm which I already put on my golf bag so HK and Linda will be out golfing with me! Then there's a very cute stamp that says "You're Special" and I can say the same for Linda. She's a very special, sweet gal that always leaves me such uplifting comments, emails me if I don't blog for a few days to make sure everything's OK with me, and we share a story about "cutting" out images. You can read about some of it on her blog here. So, she made me this beautiful card with Giggling Tilda sitting in her chair with a bubble comment AND, she CUT IT ALL OUT!!! I'm really proud of her because she did an excellent job! She cuts way better than me. Heck, when a small piece gets in my way, I cut it off (like antennaes!), but Linda cut all the curves and tiny areas! Great job Linda!!! Shhhhh, I think she was just lazy and feined "can't do it" or "I don't care to cut images out" but she really could all along so now I think she'll be cutting more of her images out and popping them up. You will, won't you, Linda??? Linda's going to get razzed about this by her BFF Kyoko and I can just hear them! Well, I just had to share this joyous day with all of you and I'm sure you all know how special you feel when someone thinks of you in a very special way, and today was my day. Crafters are warm, caring, giving people. Isn't it wonderful we have a special "commune" in which we live daily and be there for one another in any form? Have a wonderful week, and show your love to those around you. Hugs to everyone, and thank you for sharing my special day with me.
