TAMIKO'S THURSDAY TEASER: EMBELLISHMENTS

Happy Thursday fellow crafters!  It's time again for Tamiko's Thursday Teaser, and this week, our assignment is embellishments:  brads, buttons, bling!  Here's my card:

My card base is 5.5" square cut from SU! pink pirouette, followed by soft suede.  DPs are from Memory Box stack.  Here I've stamped "Maria" from the "Roll Call" set that I bought from Tamiko's online store.  There are so many images in this set that I love.  Maria is colored with Copics, cut out, and adhered with foam tape on two SB big scalloped circles (large) die-cuts. I adhered tiny flower buttons to the flower in her hair, a star button on the bow, and a pearl brad to the bling flourish on the side.  You can see what the other CT members came up with by going here.
Thank you for stopping by today!  Tomorrow is Friday already, and can you believe OCTOBER??? I'm sure you're all ready for the weekend!  I know I am!  The CT is getting together just to "hang out" and talk about our upcoming assignments and challenges so that will be fun and it's always nice to get the gals together for fun and eating!  Enjoy your weekend.

TAMIKO'S THURSDAY TEASER: USE A SPELLBINDER DIE!

Happy Thursday fellow crafters!  You know what today is! It's time again for another Tamiko's Thursday Teaser, and this time, we were asked to use a Spellbinder die on our card.
When I looked through my SB dies, I found this Label 7 die and thought it looked like an "open book" so I thought some sentiments would be appropriate on the "page" and made an easel card. Here I've used this cute image from CC Rubber Stamps called Fairy Tales Belle and you can get her at Tamiko's.  I paper-pieced her jumper and her boots...since my coloring sucks right now LOL!  The rest of her is colored with Copics but I just couldn't decide on her outfit haha.  Then I adhered her with foam tape.  I curved the "pages" and propped it up a bit for some dimension. The ribbon in the center is supposed to be a "bookmark" on this open page.
Please go check out what the other CT members came up with here.  You will be delighted.
I would like to mention that Tamiko's is happy to do special orders so if you don't see something you want at Tamiko's online store,  send her an email to let her know what you are looking for, and she will assist you.  Payment will be handled through PayPal as usual.  Thank you for stopping by today, and remember you have until September 30, 2010 to enter your project in Tamiko's Altered Greeting Farm Challenge going on right now.

AUTUMN TILDA

It's Sunday already and I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.  I came across a challenge at 7 Kids College Fund and your project must be fall themed, using a sketch designed by the sweet, lovely and talented Suzanne Dean, and must include an image carried by 7 Kids College Fund.  This is what I came up with:
My card base is 5.5" square and I used SU! crushed curry for the base, followed by SU! chocolate chip. The DP is from Debbie Mumm's Harvest & Holiday stack that I got from my lovely GF Suzan (thank you Suzan!).  For the right side panel, I used my SB "On The Vine" 12" border die cut from Bazzill CS. I stamped "Sitting Fall Tilda" with Memento tuxedo black on PTI select white CS, colored her with Copics, cut her out, and adhered her with foam tape. She is sitting on a bed of fall leaves.  Sentiment is also from Magnolia and flowers from both Wild Orchid Craft and Suzan!  Here's the sketch designed by Suzanne Dean:
Thank you for taking the time to stop by today and I hope you have a wonderful week with some crafting time squeezed in.

TAMIKO'S THURSDAY TEASER - ALTERED GREETING FARM IMAGE! AND A CHALLENGE FOR YOU!

Happy Thursday fellow crafters.  Tamiko's assigned her CT members to ALTER a Greeting Farm image on a 3-D project.  Well, most of you know that the "head" of some Greeting Farm images are about the same size so they can be interchangeable!  This is what I came up with:
I made a "tag shaped" box and on one side, I took the head of Anya from the Spotlight set and placed it on the body of Fleur Anya!  Since her headband has polka dots, this set the theme for my box, and I added some tiny black dots to her dress.
I made the box with two pieces of 3.5" x 10.5" Bazzill CS, scored at 3.5" and 7" on both pieces on the long side, then cut the tops to look like tags.  I cut two pieces of black linen CS 1.5" x 8.5" and used MS doily heart border punch and then I cut them into 3.5" wide, then adhered them on all four sides.  Before assembling my box, I inserted small eyelets on all sides (8 total) for the ribbons.  Then I criss-crossed the two pieces and adhered them in the middle section, and pulled up the sides and tied them to form the box.  The polka dot ribbon was then wrapped around the box to hold it together.
This is the opposite side of the box and here I took the head from Fleur Anya and attached it to the body of Hula Anya!  How fun is that!
The picture below is an angled view of my box where the handle was attached with a flower and pink pearl brad.
I continued the design with the MS doily heart border on the handle along with the polka dot ribbon.
Now the real fun part is, Tamiko's is back with a Challenge for YOU!  Create an ALTERED Greeting Farm image, similar to what I did here, or whatever your creative mind conjures.  So, you need at least two Greeting Farm images to "alter" the stamp image.  If you don't have any GF stamps or need another one, check out Tamiko's online store If your order is $25 or more, you get free shipping!!!  You also have a choice of using your altered GF image on either a card or a 3-D project.
The Challenge will run till the end of the month, September 30, 2010, and the winner will be announced on Tamiko's blog so please be sure to check back there.
We are all excited and can't wait to see what you all come up with! Oh, I almost forgot!
What do you win?  Tamiko's will send the winner a Sweet Anya stamp!  So go gather your GF stamps and start altering them, then upload them on Tamiko's Challenge site.  Have fun!

TILDA GOES SHOPPING!

Happy "hump" day fellow crafters!  Hope your week is coming along just fine!  I was itching to ink up one of my Maggies and decided to do a quick, CAS card using this sketch from Friday Sketchers designed by the very talented Jacque.  My friend Suzan posted her card and I decided to drop what I was doing and ink up my shopping Tilda. It felt good to play with my Maggies again LOL!
My card is my standard 5.5" square with SU! pink pirouette as my base. I matted a DP from Memory Box from the Gossamer stack onto SU! chocolate chip.
Tilda is colored with Copics, cut out, and mounted with foam tape on the sentiment panel.  I paper-pieced the little shopping bag from another DP in the Gossamer stack and the stamp is from Michael's $1 bin.
For the diamond piece in the center, I didn't want to cover the DP so I cut a piece from vellum and edged the borders with my Krylon 18k Gold Leafing pen to give it definition.
Little pearls were added for Tilda's necklace...and that's it!
Here's the sketch that Jacque designed for the Friday Sketchers Sketch #119.  I like this sketch and am I'll be using it more often.  Thank you Jacque!
Tomorrow I have some fun things to share with you, especially if you like a challenge with something to win!  I hope I see you back here tomorrow! Until then, happy crafting!

TAMIKO'S THURSDAY TEASER - A SKETCH CHALLENGE!

Good morning happy crafters!  It's Thursday, and time once again for Tamiko's Thursday Teaser.  Our assignment this week is a sketch challenge.  I love that because it makes it easier to get started.  This is what I came up with:
This image is from CC Rubber Stamps and is called Nora On A Swing!  You can get her at Tamiko's Online store here, or click on her store icon on my sidebar.  Isn't she cute?!!! After stamping this image with Memento tuxedo black on PTI cardstock, I colored with Copics, added some Prisma Ultra Fine Glitter to her wings with my 2-way glue pen, then cut the branch and Nora sitting on the swing separately, and joined it back to the branch with black crochet thread.
I mounted just the branch with foam tape for dimension and some space so Nora's swing and feet are dangling away from the panels.  It's hard to read but the sentiment says, "have a swingin' time" and I thought it was perfect for this image.
This is a partial side view of my card.  I was hoping to capture the space between the swing and the card but it was difficult.  Please check out the wonderful creations the rest of Tamiko's Creative Team designed by going here, and leave them some love.
I have some great news to share with you!  As a "heads up," for next week's Tamiko's Thursday Teaser on September 16th, it will be a CHALLENGE!  That's right!  That means you get to participate and win a prize!  The challenge will be an ALTERED GREETING FARM image on either a 3-D project OR on a card, the choice is yours.  For example, you will need two GF images, and you can take, say, the head from one and put it on the body of another.  That simple! So get your Greeting Farm stamps out.  If you don't have any, you can purchase what you need from Tamiko's online store.  Remember, if your order is $25 or more, you get FREE shipping (US only, sorry).  Let's have some fun starting next Thursday.  This challenge will run to the end of the month, September 30, 2010, and the winner will be announced on Tamiko's blog.  Check back next Thursday for more details and some sample projects by Tamiko's Creative Team.  We look forward to your participation and some FUN!

TAMIKO'S THURSDAY TEASER - COLOR CHALLENGE

Good morning crafters!  Happy Thursday to you and it's time once again for Tamiko's CT to present to you a color challenge using pink/green/brown. I love to work with these colors and here's my card:
This cutie is Fleur Anya and you can get her at Tamiko's by clicking on her store icon on my sidebar.
My card base is 5.5" square made from SU! pink pirouette CS (my fav color!).  The DP is from Graphic 45 and on top of that I used a MS double loops border and corner punch using SU! close to cocoa CS.  The next layer is Bazzill honeydew CS and I used an EK Success corner punch and inserted another piece of the Graphic 45 DP.  After coloring Fleur Anya with Copics, I cut her out and mounted her on foam tape on a Marianne Creatables die cut that I embossed with a Cuttlebug Caramelo EF.  Every girl needs bling so I used my two-way glue pen and sprinkled on lots of prisma glitter and some Judi-kins diamond glaze in the center.  I didn't want to take away from my focal point so this time I just put a small handmade rosette in the upper left corner.  Go check out the wonderful projects that Tamiko's CT came up with!  They continuously inspire me and keep my mojo alive!  Thank you for stopping by today, hope you enjoy what our CT came up with, and until next Thursday, stay safe, hug the ones you love, and happy crafting!

SURPRISE BLOG HOP!

Happy "hump" day and welcome to September 1st!  Can't believe we're in to September already!  Today, Tamiko's has a Surprise Blog Hop going on to introduce the new Greeting Farm releases.  This Surprise Blog Hop runs until Tuesday, September 7, 2010 ending at 11:59 PM HST.  ONE winner will be picked the following day.  What do you win?  Tamiko's blog hop candy will include a $10 gift certificate to be used at Tamiko's online store, AND, one choice of the new release rubber stamp from The Greeting Farm...either Sweet Anya or Oh Boy Ian (winner's choice!).  What do you need to do for a chance to win? Simply leave a comment on everyone's blog!  The blog candy is hidden on one of our blogs.  Easy peasy!  Today I would like to introduce Sweet Anya, and this is what I came up with:
I made a recessed window card (1/4" deep) using SU! pink pirouette for the base which is a 5.5" square, inserted a DP from the Memory Box Gossamer 6"x6" pack.  I used my Marianne Design Creatables ribbon border die and ran some pink ribbon through the slots with a small pearl ribbon slide in the center.  After coloring Sweet Anya with my Copics, I cut her out, mounted her on foam tape, and added a pink flat back heart pearl to her hairpin. To follow the brown stems in the DP, I added some brown leaf ribbon and a cherry blossom flower.
If you came here from Michelle's blog, you are on the right trail.  If not, go back to the starting point here.   Your next stop is Tamiko's (Things of Joy)
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy our Surprise Blog Hop.  Please come back tomorrow to see Tamiko's regular Thursday Teaser that the CT was asked to do a color challenge using pink/green/brown.  Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!
