DOUBLE POCKET CARD

A few weeks ago, there was a challenge on I believe All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge asking for a double pocket card.  Well, you guessed it, I missed it by a couple of hours because I forgot to preschedule my post and then realized it was too late.  I thought it would be fun to share it with you today and I really had fun making this.
The "double pocket" is more like an origami fold tag pocket.  I learned to make this several years ago at one of our LSS.  My card base is my usual 5.5" square using Bazzill CS.  I used my MS Lattice Deep Edge border punch for both the side panel and on the bottom of my "pocket."  I stamped "Brigitta" (? I bought the Stamp Kit #1 from CC Rubber) with Memento tuxedo black on PTI CS, colored her with Copics, cut her out, paper-pieced her dress, added stickles to her wings, laid her in grass (MS punch) with her foot sticking out!  I wove a narrow lavender ribbon through the side lattice and added some small flowers and butterflies (MS punch) with some punched leaves (Punch Bunch).  I found some narrow crochet lace in my stash so I trimmed the "pockets" of the tag holder for some definition.  Of course I had to adorn the top right with a butterfly and a flower stamen for its antennaes.

This picture shows the two tags removed from the pockets.  Here I used MS Daisy Fan border punch for the top of the tags.  The tag holding the GC is 2.75" wide (you can see the "holes" on each side) and I used my SU! punch to hold the GC in place.  The sentiment tag is 2.25" wide.  I hope you enjoyed seeing my version of a two pocket card.  I had a lot of fun creating this. Thank you for stopping by today . . . it's a very nice Sunday and I hope you all have a great week!  To think, we're heading into September already! I feel like I've been sleeping a few months between January to now!  Stay safe, and happy crafting!

TAMIKO'S THURSDAY TEASER - ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

Good morning fellow crafters.  Well, we're past mid-week so I'm sure you're all looking forward to the weekend!  Our assignment for this week's Tamiko's Thursday Teaser is to make anything but a card and I've chosen to make a cute little watering can!
This is "Miko" from the GF "Roll Call" set and you can get her from Tamiko's online store! Or, click on Tamiko's on-line store icon on my sidebar. There are TEN (10) images plus SIX (6) sentiments in this set! I love them all and can't wait to get them all inked up.
I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black and stamped on PTI select white cardstock.  Colored her with Copics, cut her out and mounted her with foam tape to the watering can.
I have a personal paper florist (thanks Suzan!) and I've used flowers and the butterflies given to me!
If you'd like to make one of these cuties, you'll find the template and instructions on SCS in the Resource file. Below is a partial side view of the watering can.
I also used the MS fence and grass punches.  I adhered the grass to the bottom of the fence, adhered it to the 4 different parts of the watering can and cut the shape to match the contour of each panel, then adhered the sides together to form the can.
You can't see it but I also added crystal lacquer to both the heart and bow in her hair. I used Bazzill "Honeydew" CS for the watering can as you need something sturdy but not too stiff.  The DP is from Basic Grey but I can't remember the name of it at the moment.  It comes together very fast and would make nice favors.
Please check out the wonderful creations the rest of Tamiko's Creative Team has come up with.
Remember, if you order over $25 from Tamiko's, you get FREE shipping (US only).  Thank you for stopping by today.  Enjoy your weekend, and stay tuned for more fun and surprises next week!  Until then, happy crafting, stay safe, and hug the ones you love!

CLUB ANYA & FRIENDS MONDAY MANIA CHALLENGE

Hi again!  This is my second post for today so please scroll down to see a very cute card made with punches!  My GF Joy is hosting the Club Anya & Friends Monday Mania Challenge.  Actually it was last week but the Greeting Farm's Gallery was having problems so I was unable to upload but it seems to be working now.  They have extended the deadline to Saturday, August 28.  Anyways, Joy's challenge is SHAKER CARDS!  I had fun making this card with Flutter Anya:

Great job hosting this challenge, Joy!  This was my very first time doing a Greeting Farm challenge although I love their images!

AUGUST OCS FROM BRENDA!

Happy Monday to all you crafters!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are already looking forward to this coming weekend!  I know I am as there's so much going on this month!  Today I would like to share with you "punched artwork" from my August OCS (one card share) partner, Brenda of Sweet As a Gumdrop."  If you are not familiar with Brenda's punch art work, you MUST visit her site.  She has tons of beautiful creations made with her awesome creative mind and punches!  Locally, we call her the "Punch Queen" and she always surprises us with what she comes up with.  That being said, Brenda, no, I didn't like my OCS, I LOVE IT ALL!!!  She not only made a card, but she also made a business card holder with her cute punched monkey and a mini post-it note holder on a key ring with her cutest little owl.  Now you can see what I mean:
WOW!  Isn't Brenda incredible with her punch art??!!! The card she made for me, I believe, is depicting "Obon" season celebrated annually during the summer months (June-July?) in Hawaii and I'm sure in Japan.  The "stand" behind the girls is where the "drummer" and singers position themselves.  Dancers dressed in their "yukata," a cotton kimono, or "hapi" coats dance in a circle around this stand.  Besides Brenda's beautiful coloring, I wanted to point out that the front of her card has a "fold" in the bottom to give the girls and the sentiment ("One good friend is worth a thousand relatives.") a nice dimension.  Too clever, Brenda! I LOVE YOUR CARD AND RAK!
Can you believe, I met Brenda for the first time at the Island Girls Summer Social #2 this past Saturday, and this special package was hand delivered to me so Brenda, it was a double pleasure to have been your August OCS partner, and to have finally met you.  Here's a pic of the group at the Summer Social:

Have a great week and happy crafting!

AUGUST OCS - ASIAN THEMED CARD

Happy Monday, Everyone.  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready to start the week with a lot of gusto!  This is the card I made for my August OCS partner, Brenda, of Sweet As a Gumdrop!  Most of you know her as the "Punch Queen" so if you haven't visited her site, go check it out and you will be amazed at what she can do with her punches!  I hope she likes my card!
I didnt' have any asian stamp images so I went online and found this cute digi set called "Midori" from Mami Doodles.  I think the girls are so cute all dressed up in their kimonos.
My card base is my usual 5.5" square.  I matted my pretty cherry blossom DP from Best Creation on Bazzill CS.  There is so much shine because of the gloss on the DP so I struggled to get a nice pic without too much glare.

This is the inside of the card.  I didn't add anything too bulky since this card will be mailed.
You can join the fun in this One Card Swap (OCS) by going to Linda's blog.  She posts the sign-ups at the end of the month for the following month so stayed tuned to her blog.
Thank you for stopping by today, and later this week I will have something else to share with you. Until then, happy crafting and stay safe!

ISLAND GIRLS SUMMER SOCIAL #2

First of all, thank you Teri for putting together another WONDERFUL get-together for all the blogging sistahs on the Island (Oahu!).  It was a day filled with FUN, FOOD, MAKE 'N TAKES, FUN, FOOD, LAUGHTER, CAMARADERIE, MEETING NEW FACES, AND A FUN CARD CONTEST!  This year's event was held at the lovely Honolulu Country Club and there were about 50 (or more) of us!  Teri had a card contest and asked everyone to make a card (not mandatory) using the colors pink, green and black, which was posted on a board for everyone to look at and vote on. These cards will be donated to a local charity so there are no sentiments.  This is my card:
My card base is a standard A2 size in black linen CS.  The DP is from Autumn Leaves and is matted with SU! pink pirouette CS.  As soon as I saw this stamp I had to get her.  It's a Stampavie/Gillian Roberts "Being Together" image that I got from our LSS Munchkins!  I stamped her with Memento tuxedo black on PTI select white CS, colored her clothes, bench, body and the teddy bear with Copics.  For her hair and shoes, I wanted to try my hand at coloring with Copics and Koh-i-Noor pencils.  I wanted to keep the "black" but not have it look too harsh so I went with the color pencil effect and OMS after I colored with Copic C2 first.  I need to practice more!  Well, that's it for my simple card.  Thank you so much stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful day!

NEW DIGI IMAGE STORE - IT'S KARBER!!!

Did you hear? There's a new digi online store called Karber Digi Images owned by Berenice (Sweet Escape) and her friend Karla.  Well, my dear, sweet friend Linda is on their DT!  How exciting and wonderful is that?  So I went to check it out and fell in love with this "Alice" image, you know, as in the "TWILIGHT"  saga that everyone's going crazy about (well, just about everyone!).  Challenges will be on Mondays, and you guessed it, they're having their first Challenge going on right now and the theme is "Twilight!"  Go check out this new store here.  So here's the card I made in honor of my friend Linda! Hope you like it Linda...and thank you for introducing me to this great new digi store!

You can check out their first Challenge by going here.  They have so many wonderful images and I'm sure you'll find several you'll love!
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend.

TAMIKO'S THURSDAY TEASER - A SKETCH CHALLENGE!

Happy Thursday, Everyone!  Hope your week is coming along just fine!  This week for Tamiko's Thursday Teaser, we were assigned a sketch challenge.  I hope you will be inspired by all the lovely creations by our Creative Team!  Here is what I came up with:
First of all, I apologize for the glare at the top of the ribbon.  I tried retaking the pic several times, but this was the best I could do.
Here I am featuring "Summer" from the TGF's "Roll Call" set.  I think she is just the cutest little girl.  I thought my DP (thank you Suzan!) went very well with this image as I love the cheerful colors.  My card base is A2 using SU! Pink Pirouette (love that pink!).  I mounted my DP on SU! So Saffron.  I colored here with Copics, added some Spica gold pen to her hair lines since it looked so dull, gave her some teeny-tiny rhinestones to dress up her hair bow, shorts, and the corners of the mat the image is on.  I added some Cotton Candy Stickles to the leaves and roses (thanks Suzan!) . . . every girl needs a lot of bling! Everything else is from my stash.  Thank you for stopping by again today and be sure to see the lovely creations my fellow CT members have created by visiting Tamiko's blog here.  You can purchase TGF stamps from Tamiko's online store by simply clicking on her store icon on my sidebar.  Remember, with a purchase of $25 or more, you get FREE shipping (US only).  That's a great deal.  Until next Thursday, Aloha and Mahalo (thank you) for stopping by.

TAMIKO's COLOR CHALLENGE!

First of all, I would like to announce that I was recently invited to join TAMIKO's Creative Team and I am so honored and humbled, nervous as heck, but happy that I'll be playing with a bunch of talented gals that I know will provide inspiration and add much to my creative growth.  That being said, I hope you all are having a wonderful week as we head towards the weekend.
Tamiko's has a challenge every Thursday so check back every week!  This week we have a color challenge, using turquoise, orange and yellow.  This is what I came up with (sorry for the blurry pic!):

I used the CC Designs "Sugarplums Lil Bug Emma" image and colored her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on foam tape for dimension.  The DP is from DCWV "Blossoms and Butterflies" stack.  Ribbon, butterfly and lace trim from my stash.  I added Crystal Glitter (Stampendous) on her wings to give her some sparkle.  I gave her two teeny-tiny rhinestones for her earrings, and added some dots to her outfit with my Signo white gel pen.
You can find this stamp and many more fun images at Tamiko's online store.  There's a sale going on now so what better time to get the images you want! AND, if your order is $25 or over, you qualify for FREE shipping (US only)!  Now that's a great deal!
Thank you for stopping by!  You can see what the other Creative Team members have created by visiting Tamiko's blog.  You will be inspired by their talent and creativity...I am!
