2011 Calendar from Tammi and An Award

Good morning fellow crafters!  The weekend is here and that means fun and perhaps some crafting time!  I have a couple of things to share today.  Nothing that I made, but something I was so blessed to receive.
First of all, I'd like to share a few calendar months from a set I received from the super talented Tammi Buck.  I know you will enjoy seeing what she created for the first quarter of 2011.  Next month, I will share the next 3 months (April, May June) so you will have some creative inspiration.  Sorry this is posted super late, but better late than never, and when it comes to inspiration, there's really no "expiration" so to speak.  So, enough babbling and please enjoy art work for January, February, and March 2011.

Every single month is a masterpiece created by Tammi.  You will find a lot of inspiration on her blog here.  I know you will enjoy seeing the next three months so stay tuned.  Thank you very much Tammi, for gifting me with this wonderful set of monthly calendars.  I will treasure this forever!

The other day, the lovely and talented Iulia passed on a blog award to me.  Thank you Iulia!  Talk about versatile, she most definitely is as you will see for yourself when you visit her here.
Passing on an award can be very difficult at times.  Today, I would like to pass this on to all of you in blogland.  I know Iulia will understand and perhaps agree with me.  So, from the two of us, please feel free to grab this award, and pass it on.  All of you have shared your talent, creativity, and "time" to make the crafting world a fun place!
Have a wonderful weekend, stay safe, give a hug to those you love, and thank you for your friendship.

Warm Hugs,

TILDA WITH LACE JEANS

Good evening fellow Magnolia-ites!  It's mid-week already!  Hope your week is going fine.  I started on this card about two weeks ago as soon as I got some new stamps from Diana's Magnolia-licious store (click on the store icon on my sidebar) but just didn't know what to do.  I started looking for some DPs and decided on using my new Imaginisce 6"x6" pad from the Garden Party and started coloring her to match the DPs.  I thought I'd try my first twisted easel card, then pondered "what could Tilda be looking down at?"  So I pulled out the little ladybug from an older collection that I just can't remember at the moment.  No matter how I tried to lay it all out, something wasn't right so I put all the pieces in a Ziplock for later.  I was going to recolor the ladybugs to pink, but never got around to it.  I don't know why I colored them brown/tan. They look like they just came from a mud bath LOL! Today I saw a fabby card by Sharon and she has the most adorable card and her ladybug is so cute you must go check it out.  I had a little "chat" with Sharon, and being the sweet gal that Sharon is, she encouraged me to give it a go.  So I thought, okay, what is, IS, then I can put this behind me and get started on my Easter cards.  I'll add another sentiment on the front before I send this out so I left a space in the upper left-hand corner.  So here is my version:
Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to stop by, and for all the encouraging comments you have left me.  The Magnolia-licious group is one of the most inter-active group I have belonged to, with so many wonderfully talented and creative people who always share their work and skills.  Anyone can learn anything there is to learn from cardmaking to 3-D projects, coloring, supplies, the list goes on.  I take my hat off to all of you and for the many friendships formed each day.  Have a beautiful day, each and every one of you, every single day!

TILDA WITH HAWAII FLOWER

Happy Monday Maggie-lovers!  Hope you all had a fun weekend.  I got a few new stamps and couldn't wait to ink them up.  I started with Tilda with Hawaii flower, I guess because I'm from Hawaii and that is our state flower! And of course, she has a butterfly sitting on her arm!  I love butterflies!  I've seen some "book cards" popping up and thought I'd give it a try.  I saw the original instructions on "Tina46" blog site but the measurements were in centimeters and I didn't have the patience to convert it to inches, then the wonderful Hope C. sent an email out with some basic instructions so I thought I'd give it a try.  I made a few small adjustments to Hope's measurements and came up with this:
This is the front of the book box.  It measures 4.5" wide by 5.0" high.  The cover is cut 5" x 10" and scored at 4.5" from each end giving you a 1" section in the center.  I used SU! pink pirouette for this cover.
Tilda is stamped with Memento tuxedo black on PTI select white CS and colored with Copics.  The green mat piece is from CTMH olive CS.  DP is from Making Memories "Dilly Dally" line.
I kept the front rather plain firstly because of the size, and I wanted to keep the focus on this cutie-pie Tilda, that of course, I got from Diana's Magnolia-licious online store!  I tell ya, she's the sweetest Lady and her service is always fast.  Click on her store icon on my sidebar to get there to order your stamps!

This is the inside.  I didn't take a good shot to show the "book" part but it is about 1" deep.  I used my new heart "Doily Dies" from Cheery Lynn Designs that my sister got for me and just love all the cut out hearts!  The butterfly in the "book window" is from a stamp set from Prickley Pear, and has a matching butterfly die that was gifted to me from a dear friend, Linda (thank you Linda!).  The flourish die-cut on the front and on the bottom of the heart is from my Nellie Snellen die.
I also needed a "thank you" note card and again used this Tilda with Hawaii flower since I couldn't stop playing with her!

The "envelope" is die-cut from a "Treat Bag" by Lifestyle Crafts which I believe is a line from QuicKutz.  I had to keep my "note" flat to fit in it so again, it's not embellished with flowers and trim so it would fit.
Well, that's all I have to share today.
Tomorrow I will share with you some awesome calendar pages I received from the super talented Tammi.  Her work is incredible and you will see it all tomorrow.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by today.  Have a wonderful week and happy crafting!
Maggie hugs,
