Two Tildas for a Two Card Swap

Happy Monday Everyone! Well, Monday is almost over here in Hawaii and already Tuesday in other parts of the world! I would like to share with you two cards I made for a two-card-swap we'll be having at Denise's Play Date this Sunday! (Sorry, it's a long post!)

This is (I think!) Strawberry Tilda from the Lazy Days of Summer Collection. I started out with a top folded 4.25" x 11" Bazzill pink CS, folded it in half, then used my MS doily punch to trim the front by lining up the fold line to the edge of the punch (you know, it looks like 3" wide and is the center of the punch). This takes away about 1/4" on each side.
I used this really cute new (to me!) DP from Best Creation Inc. that I got from one of our LSS. It has epoxy and glitter over some of the leaves and flowers and is so pretty IRL.
I stamped Tilda with Memento Black Tuxedo on PTI white CS and colored with Copics. Then I used my Signo Uniball white gel pen and added all those dots. I matted the image on SU! Melon Mambo that I just love! I adhered her with foam tape

Here is a side view and the card opened. I stamped the flowers from the Summer collection, cut them out and adhered them to the "message" piece.
This is my second swap card with Sunflower Tilda. I used all SU! papers: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry CS, and Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.

I stamped Tilda with Memento Black Tuxedo on PTI white CS and colored her with Copics. I won't bore you with all the details, but the inside of the card is shown below.

I'm an amateur photographer so don't mind the pics. I don't know what happened here, but the colors came out waaaaaaaayyyyy darker than IRL. The card above these show a truer color.
I saw a card by Linda Cummings on the Magnolia-licious gallery and she was most gracious in sharing the directions with me. Thank you, Linda!
Thank you for stopping by and I appreciate all your sweet comments. They keep me inspired as well as everything I learn from all of you crafters out there who share your know-hows. It is very much appreciated and I think crafters are the most giving souls around. We love to make things and share things, and give things. Bless all of you for having such a generous heart. Have a great week, and I'll be stopping by to visit you also.
P.S. Relatives from Japan are arriving tomorrow (for a week) so I may be quiet for a while (sigh!).

Flutterby Wednesday #72 - I Missed It!

I'm back with another post. Wouldn't you know it, I thought I'd beat the deadline and join Danni's Flutter-by Wednesday challenge - For the First Time! But, sadly, it wasn't meant to be. You see, after I finished my card, I went to check Danni's site, and this week's challenge is from Kim and her challenge is to use your favorite quote (or a quote) on your creation along with your butterfly or fairy. Well, as you can see, my fairy butterfly took up the whole front of the card and there was no space left to even fit a quote. Oh well, that's the story of my life...I've missed the boat again. But, I had fun making this card.

And here is the simple inside of the card:

I purchased a digi download from Sketching Stamper. This design is created by Chris Dark and you can find more of her creations here. This butterfly fairy comes from her Butterfly Fairies set. Well, thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

ISLAND GIRLS SUMMER SOCIAL

Hello and Happy Sunday Everyone! Wow! Yesterday was an awesome day with beautiful blue skies, lots of ladies, food, fun, demos, make n' takes, RAKS, shopping, prizes...all under one roof! Teri of Big Ideas from a Little Girl, put together a social gathering for local bloggers and did a fantastic job!!! Most of us have been just "visiting" our local friends through blogging, but yesterday, Teri made it possible for all of us to meet each other and share our common interests of crafting. Thank you so very much, Teri! I had a blast. I tell ya, Teri's is a petite gal but full of ideas and conducts many classes at her home, and coordinates events. She works full time but still finds the time to do so many extra curricular activities and she exhausts me! So be sure to check out her site if you haven't already done so and see her wonderful creations.

This is what I made for the 35 gals, half in pink and the other half in purple:

And this is all 35 of them:

I used my Sizzix Scallop Circle Bag die for these babies, stamped this cute Tilda image from the new Summer Collection kit with Memento Black Tuxedo on PaperTrey white CS, colored them with Copics, cut them out and mounted them on the sentiment from Penny Black, then adhered it to the boxes with foam tape.

I came home with wonderful RAKs, more craft supplies purchased at bargain prices, new ideas, a lesson in Copic coloring, a Just Rite Times New Roman Font set I won as a door prize, and many wonderful new friends. It was a day to be long remembered. Thank you also to the Rosario family (Barbie, Danny and Sunny) for allowing us to use their showroom (and it was air conditioned!!!).

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and will be ready for a new week! Thank you for stopping by and I'll start blurfing again to come and say hello to you!

A RAK and an Award - Sorry No Card Today

Happy Tuesday Everyone! My week is starting out very nicely as I received a beautiful thank-you card and a blogger's award that I would like to share with you to acknowledge my appreciation to these two talented gals, Vivi and Kim. Thank you Vivi and Kim for thinking of me when you sent these...I am touched and honored and know I've been blessed with your friendship that I treasure!

Kim of Kimbee's Creation, is an avid stamper and jewelry maker, and has tons of great ideas on her blog. She also has some tutorials at Bee-Crafty, the last one being coloring with Copics. Go check out her blog and the Bee-Crafty site and "bee" inspired!
Thank you again, Kim, for this beautiful card and those blingies that I use so much of!

Vivi of Handmade by Vivi is a very talented gal that has beautiful projects oozing out of her blog and I don't know how she can create so many wonderful projects almost daily!

We also share something in common, that being we both have Tilda dolls handmade for us so our little girls are "sisters!" How fun is that? One resides in Hawaii and the other in Brazil!!!

I was very surprised and touched to receive this award from Vivi (thank you Vivi!!!). This award is dedicated to papecraft artists. I don't consider myself an "artist" per se' LOL! But I am honored by Vivi's offering this to me. The Award rules are:

1. Only 3 people are allowed (to have this passed on to them)

2. Two awards have to be dedicted followers of your blog and the other one has to be someone new orrecently new to your blog and live in another part of the world.

3. You must link back to whoever gave you the award.

It's a way of saying "Thank You" to those who take time out for wonderful comments to boost your day. It's a very hard decision as I wish I could give it to all of you. I offer this award to:

Thank you for taking the time to share my joy with me today. Have a wonderful week, and happy creating.

Summer Tilda

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and the week has gotten off to a good start. I had time to make a card last night and I used one of the new Tildas from the Summer Collection kit but I don't know the name of this image so if anyone knows, please let me know!

My card base is done with Bazzill white CS and 5.5" square. All DPs are from Basic Grey: Euphoria, Wisteria, and Eva. While stamping with some friends, my GF Kellie brought along this great sentiment stamp so I had to run out and buy it for myself! It matches so perfectly with Magnolia stamps because they are angels. Oh, it is a Penny Black stamp called "Angel" if you are interested.

I used this Friday Sketchers #63 layout for my card and love it. I know I'll be making more cards using this design.

There's nothing much to my card but I used two of my Sizzix circle dies and my Marvy punches (pink and purple) to mat the sentiment. Both the circle mat and the sentiment with Tilda are popped up with foam tape, and I added a butterfly charm.

Have a wonderful week and I thank you for stopping by again today to visit with me and for all the wonderful comments you leave me that keep me encouraged. Now I'm off to blurfing so I can get some inspiration from our wonderful crafting gurus!

MONDAY, MONDAY, SO GOOD TO ME!

I am truly blessed and just had to share this fabulous RAK I received in the mail yesterday! That song Monday, Monday (so good to me) keeps playing in my head because of what I received from Denise of Denise Loves Stamping (hi Denise! Thank you!!!). This gal is very special and has a daughter Jamee who does crafting together. Denise makes beautiful jewelry and is known to share them with her friends. Go check out her site to see all the wonderful cards and jewelry she makes. Now I am the proud owner of TWO pairs of earrings! That's right, TWO that she sent me in my favorite colors. How nice is that? I am truly looking forward to meeting her in person! Okay, so here's the lovely RAK I received:

They are made of beautiful mother of pearl shells and they have a beautiful sheen on them. Denise does beautiful work and I can't wait to put these on.

And look at that cute Hello Kitty card! All that cutting and piecing, and inside there was a very sweet note.

I love these, Denise!

Okay, thanks for visiting and sharing my joy with me. Have a wonderful week all you crafty ladies.

Magnolia Summer Tilda with Strawberry

Happy Sunday Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I had a chance to work on a card today now that the pain in my neck and shoulder has subsided. I didn't do much coloring or cutting out so this was great for me.

My card base is 5.5" square and I used CTMH cardstock and gingham check in Bubblegum. The DPs are Doodlebug Pink Lemonade Plaid and Berry Pink. This cute little Tilda is from the new Summer Collection. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI white CS and colored with Copics. I cut Tilda out and popped her over the top of the strawberry with foam tape.

The colors look a little darker than IRL for some reason and the strawberry is really a lighter pink, closer to the color of the gingham DP.

I added some stickles to Tildas wings and berry dew drops to the flourish I punched out with my EK Success punch. Ribbon is from my stash.

I followed the Just Magnolia #15 sketch for this week, and had fun since it went quite fast.
I haven't added a sentiment yet as I don't know for what occasion I will use this card.

Enjoy your weekend, and thank you for stopping by today.

Circular Fold Up Birthday Card

Happy Saturday Everyone! The sun is shining bright here in Hawaii with our lovely blue skies so this calls for being outdoors today! Before we leave the house, I wanted to share with you a birthday card (again) that I made for my GF and I know she received it so it's okay to post. I has like 4 parts so bear with me. Mind you, I did not put too many embellishments because it gets too cumbersome when you fold it up! You'll see what I mean if you venture to make one...it is easier than it looks, and quite a "conversation piece" in MHO LOL! Okay, so here are a few shots of each side:

I made a mini pizza box to put this folder circular card in:

I found the instructions for this circular card on Patti Lee's blog and thought it was a very interesting, intriguing style. I only stamped the sentiments from SU! and every piece that is adhered in this card are tags from Graphic 45.

Although Patti's instructions calls for 6" circles, I made a smaller version by die-cutting 4" circles with my Sizzix. I will try to make a larger card later and see if I can find my Coluzzle, and for those of you who own a Cricut...that would be "duck soup" right? LOL!

Okay, enough of my ramblings and I've got to get ready so I wish you all a fun-filled weekend!

Thank you for stopping by and know that I truly appreciate your visiting me when you can!
